Denmark
Norion is an environmental consultancy offering policy analyses, evaluations, project development, and communication and dissemination of complex environmental agendas. Established in 1990 Norion has carried out more than 100 of project on circular economy across sectors and loops and in commission of Ministries, public agencies, companies and knowledge institutions.
The work ranges from strategic management consultancy to advisory work on technology and political and regulatory frameworks (on EU and national level) as well as hands-on innovative concepts and solutions, such as development of PSS solutions and models for sustainable business development for clothing, electronics and food companies.
Finland
It is in VTT’s strategy to develop technologies, processes and business models to suit the transition from a linear economy to a circular one and beyond, and VTT has wide expertise on circular economy related business research. VTT’s project members work in a team called Sustainable Business, which focus on business research in Circular Economy, particularly on sustainable and circular business models. Besides academic knowledge production, VTT has strong experience on creating innovative circular solutions and business development across sectors, such as textile, electronics, food and packaging.
Sweden
RISE has extensive knowledge and experience with actionable research on circular economy and servitization (e.g. leasing, subscription, and renting models) from projects within Sweden and across the Nordics. RISE Sustainable Business specializes in obstacles and opportunities for a transition to a circular economy with particular expertise in circular business model innovation, business ecosystem measurabil- ity, financing, product-related business risks, and climate benefits. Furthermore, RISE has been leading roundtable discussions with Swedish authorities and industry to identify challenges and opportunities regarding circularity and product related regulation and legislation. Finally, they have been co-founding the Nordic Circular Hotspot, which aims to be a leading resource and collaborative learning hub on the circular economy in the Nordics.
NORDIC EXPERT TEAM
Norway
NORSUS has broad experience across many Norwegian sectors, with particularly extensive experience in packaging, electronics, textiles, furniture and food amongst others. NORSUS’ consultants have good in- sight into European regulations in these areas. NORSUS is extremely active in circular economy policy and practice in Norway and across the Nordics.
Island
Environice has a long experience in data management and presentation, especially in CO2-emissions accounting, both for national authorities (National Inventory Reports (NIR)) and in local and regional accounting, such as in relation to cities’ membership in Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM).
Sweden
IIIEE is the leader of the Business Model project in Sweden’s largest research program on Sustainable Consumption, Mistra-Sustainable Consumption – from niche to mainstream, which aims to stimulate a transition to sustainable consumption by generating in-depth knowledge on how niche sustainable consumption practices can become mainstream in the areas of food, vacation and furnishing.

Belgium
VITO has knowledge on building a sustainable communities, by pursuing a socioeconomic development that will allow human existence also in the long term.
